Dr. Gillian Robbins is the founder, president and sole professional counsellor at Transformations Counselling Services. Over the past 10+ years, Transformations Counselling Services has been dedicated to providing counselling and consulting services primarily to women, couples, and families within Windsor and Essex County, and Detroit, Michigan.
While Dr. Robbins addresses many client issues, anxiety is a key area of specialization and interest. As a result, in addition to using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Rational Emotive Therapy and Existentialism, Dr. Robbins has integrated Mindfulness as a major component of her practice.
Since 2010, Dr. Robbins has experienced how implementing and adopting a mindfulness attitude and lifestyle has assisted clients in managing anxiety and, more speci_cally, types of performance anxiety (school, work, personal and athletic).
While at Wayne State University, Dr. Robbins had the privilege of sharing Mindfulness by providing educational workshops to the university community, as well as to individual and group counselling students. Today, Transformations Counselling Services is evolving to o_er similar services to residents in Ontario and the State of Michigan.
Dr. Robbins graduated with a PhD in Counselling (specialization – Rehabilitation Counselling) in 2013, and a Masters of Arts in Rehabilitation Counselling and Community Inclusion (2002) from Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Robbins also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from University of Windsor, Ontario (1998). Between 2010 and 2013, Dr. Robbins served as a Counsellor at Wayne State University – Counselling and Psychological Services. In the course of her clinical career, Dr. Robbins has rendered personal and rehabilitation services to children, adolescents, adults and those with physical, emotional and mental disabilities.
